NEW BRANDS FOR THE SUMMER!
Let’s Hike’s continued success has recently attracted a glut of new brands – all introduced from this Summer onwards.
Brands include some of Europe’s leading lights in the outdoor clothing industry: The North Face, Barbour and Mountain Equipment – all of which need little introduction as quality manufacturers of high performance outdoor wear.

Christmas Opening Hours
The last date for ordering for delivery before Christmas (providing stock is available) is Friday 20th December. To guarantee, please call. We will endeavour to fulfil orders placed after this over the weekend of 21st / 22nd December but would urge anyone placing these last minute orders to check the stock situation by telephone on Monday 23rd (lines open 10.00am until 4.00pm).
The Holmfirth mill shop will close at 1.00pm on Christmas Eve and will reopen on Friday 27th December. The shop will also close on New Year’s Day.
Internet orders will be processed and despatched between Christmas and New Year though there may be some delays due to fragmented postal and courier services over this period. As always, we will endeavour to fulfil and despatch orders as quickly as possible over the Christmas period.

Winter Clearance Sale Now On
Clearance of all winter lines has now begun with our largest ever clear out SALE! With discounts now available of up to 65% on current lines, the sale will continue until the early part of March once new Spring 2013 lines begin to arrive.
The sale applies to virtually every winter line sold on the websites including adult and children’s skiwear, outdoor clothing and winter footwear, including snow boots and waterproof walking boots. The only advice on sale items is “Be Quick”; already manufacturers are running out of key lines, meaning once they’re sold on the websites, they’re sold!

Campmania Show Draws The Crowds - Despite The Weather!
A rare dry spell during the three day show
The Campmania July camp show drew strong crowds throughout its three days, despite atrocious weather. Falling in the midst of one of the wettest Julys on record, the initial signs were not good. But donning anoraks and wellingtons, the customers fought the elements to visit the Underbank site which affords commanding views over “Summer Wine” countryside.
The show included over 30 family and festival tents, a bouncy castle and slide for the kids and a beer stand kindly provided by Lancaster brewery for the adults. There was also a barbecue and manufacturers were on hand to demonstrate how to (and how not no) pitch tents correctly.
It’s Campmania’s second camp show of the year with more planned in the future. Organiser Phil Haynes commented: “We did have a few dry spells, but in the main, the Yorkshire weather did its best to test our tents. But all came through without a leak and the people flocked in by the car load. Altogether, a fantastic show that let our customers actually see what Gelert, Coleman and Sprayway tents look like when they are erected. The show was definitely helped by the beer and the barbecue and we even sold a few tents!”
There is another show planned towards the end of the season when all the final clearance will be up for grabs. Watch this space!
Camping Show 13th-15th July. Holmfirth West Yorkshire
Following the success of the May camping exhibition, another show featuring kit and tents from the top manufacturers is planned for 13th-15th July, again in Holmfirth, the heart of Last of the Summer Wine country.
The May show proved an easy take down following the sale of almost all family display models, where customers packed away their own purchases at the end of the show. The success was down to the weather and the low prices of display models, which in many cases, were below trade price.
The July show will follow a similar format where the message is: if you want a display bargain, get there soon, there’s only one of each!

Camping Show 11-14th May 2012
Part of last year's tent show at Underbank Rugby Club, Holmfirth.
Campmania’s second annual camping weekend is set to take place on the weekend of Fiday 11th until Monday 14th May.
Following the success of last year’s event that attracted around 1,000 visitors, this year’s event aims to go a stage further with all-day barbecues, live displays and audience participation events. The show will also display key new 2012 tent models from top tent manufacturers including Gelert, Coleman, CampinGaz and Sprayway.
”We have a few surprises up our sleeve this year to make the event bigger and better than last year,” said Campmania’s Sara Longden. “We have a firm commitment from our suppliers who will be on hand to demonstrate and talk technical regarding all the latest developments, and we have a great deal to talk about and show with many exciting new models to see.”
Everyone is welcome throughout the whole weekend. There will be lots going on and many special weekend deals on tents and tent packages. The event will be split between the Outdoormania, four storey mill shop and the Underbank Rugby Ground just up the hill from the shop.
Largest Skiwear Department in the North
Skimania has opened what is widely regarded as the largest dedicated skiwear area in the North of England. Opened as part of the 14,000 sq.ft. outdoor clothing retail and internet showroom complex in Holmfirth, the new skiwear floor is completely dedicated to skiwear including ski and snowboard jackets, pants, helmets, goggles and ski clothing accessories.
The opening of the new floor gives Skimania around 2,000sq.ft of skiwear, larger than any other dedicated ski shop in the North of England. The floor is open to all Internet customers to let them browse and try on around 700 lines of ski clothing items prior to buying or ordering on line.
Skimania managing director Sara Longden commented, “it has been a long project. Since the opening of the ground floor retail area last Christmas, we have worked hard on making the Outdoormania mill one of the most prestigious outdoor showrooms anywhere in the country.
“The opening of the Skimania floor marks what is probably the most prestigious stage of development. It looks fantastic and offers something for everyone, from sub £100 beginner skiwear packages for men, women and kids to high brow, top performing jackets and pants from the likes of Salomon, Armada and Oakley. People are already telling us it’s an essential destination for anyone who skis or boards and we’re delighted they like it!”
The floor is open to all Internet customers and groups of skiers including schools and colleges. Experienced ski and boarding staff are on hand to advise parties on appropriate clothing depending on experience and conditions on the mountain. The whole Outdoormania complex has been designed to create a relaxed shopping atmosphere where customers can browse and chat with a cup of coffee.
The opening reflects the penultimate phase of the mill’s development. There are now four floors of retail and Internet showrooms. The final phase will see a panoramic bistro style cafe on the top floor which will offer commanding views over the beautiful ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ countryside. The building is open to the public from 10.00am until 5.00pm six days a week; it’s difficult to miss, a large five storey mill on the right hand side of Dunford Road as when travelling into Holmfirth from the South. There’s also a large free customer car park around the front of the building.
Camping Weekend Success
Outdoormania's inaugural camping weekend in July was a huge success attracting visitors from as far afield as Merseyside, the Midlands and Lincolnshire. With almost 1,000 visitors to the five storey mill complex and the adjacent camping exhibition, the Holmfirth site was a hive of activity.
Events included a widespread tent exhibition at the neighbouring Underbank Rugby Ground, a climbing wall, catering and attendance by many manufacturers to explain the merits of their products. The shop also ran competitions and gave away nearly £3,000 of product to customers over the three day show.
"We were delighted with the turn-out," commented marketing director Phil Haynes. "The activity around the site was precisely what we had hoped for when we first took the near derelict building on 18 months ago."
Around £1.5 million has so far been invested in converting the five storey mill into what has been described as one of the most prestigious outdoor venues in the UK. Four floors of Internet showrooms and retail are now open to view online product and to try clothing on. The final stage will complete later this year with a bistro cafe on the top floor which will take in the commanding views over "Summer Wine" Holmfirth.
"With the mill now in full swing, Outdoormania really is a destination venue," added Phil Haynes. "Certainly many customers commented on the size and level of fit in the building and the event was made all the better by the expert advice from staff and suppliers throughout the weekend.
"Suppliers such as Gelert, Regatta, Coleman, Weird Fish, Merrell and Helly Hansen gave us some fantastic support, helping the event to go off with a bang. A big thank you to them and let's all hope we can make the event bigger and better next year!"
